Keep It Clean
Dust is one of the most common things that builds up inside arcade machines. Wipe the exterior regularly with a soft cloth and avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto controls, screens or cabinet artwork.
Check the Controls
Joysticks, buttons and other controls can loosen or wear over time. If something begins to feel different, sticks, or stops responding consistently, it is worth checking before the problem becomes worse.
Keep Ventilation Clear
Many arcade machines rely on ventilation openings or fans to keep internal components cool. Make sure vents are not blocked and avoid positioning the machine where airflow is restricted.
Watch for Changes in the Display
Pay attention to changes in brightness, colour, flickering, image stability or unusual lines on the screen. Display problems can develop gradually, so noticing a change early can make troubleshooting easier.
Listen for Unusual Sounds
Buzzing, crackling, distorted audio or unusual fan noise can indicate that something needs attention. If a machine suddenly begins sounding different, investigate rather than ignoring it.
Avoid Unnecessary Moving
Arcade cabinets can be heavy and contain components that do not respond well to rough handling. When moving a machine, take your time and make sure it is properly supported.
Address Faults Early
If a machine begins resetting, freezing, losing sound, developing control problems or behaving differently than normal, it is better to investigate the cause early.
